bolton_wanderersThe deal with the Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic will see both clubs wear jerseys sporting the logo of the online sportsbook. The deal is a first for the history books that one company is sponsoring two clubs in the same league.

wigan_athletic188Bet’s deals with the two clubs will begin with the 2009-2010 and while the firm has declined to comment on how much it had spent on the sponsorship, the deals will run concurrently for about two years.

According to 188Bet Chief Executive Andy Scott:

“We were looking for a unique opportunity to mark 188BET’s first major foray in the UK market, and feel that the collaborative engagement with both Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic shall help us to further grow the strength of our brand.”

The company’s logos will appear on all adult club shirts only and not on replica gear and wear intended for the youth. In addition, both 188Bet and Wigan Athletic have decided to leave the gambling logo off of Wigan Athletic’s youth teams.
