MADRID, SPAIN – When the Primera Liga begins its new season, Atletico Madrid players will be donning new uniforms billed by their current sponsor Finnish gaming company PAF.

The shirt sponsorship deal also has an online component whereby PAF will launch an official club gaming site for the Spanish football club which is planned to be an information portal for fans of the team. The planned site will also feature odds on matches plus promotions and prizes.

The Atletico Madrid-PAF deal is good until 2011 whereby the PAF brand will be visible in the club’s shorts and training clothes. In addition, the deal secures for PAF the rights to advertise at the club’s stadium — Vicente Calderon Stadium — for the duration of the deal.

PAF Head of Business to Business Anders Wiklund commented on the sponsorship deal:

“This is a historic venture for us. Being able to team up with one of the best football clubs in Europe, which shares the same values as us, is a true honor for PAF. We have found a very like-minded club, with a very good reputation, which is a cornerstone in this sponsorship agreement. PAF is dedicated to creating a win-win situation, not only for the Club, but also for Atletico de Madrid fans.”

On behalf of Atletico Madrid, Commercial General Director Juan Carlos Moya said:

“We are very proud to have found a new sponsor sharing the same vision as us. PAF’s mindset of creating value for the club and for our fans, and having a charitable profile, is in line with our current strategy and business development. Not only have we secured the needed funds for the club, but also being able to create added value for our fans when the online gaming site is launched later by PAF. It’s also the first time a sponsor has insisted on distributing money to local charities, which truly makes this cooperation unique and a win-win situation for the Club, for the Fans and for Charity.”
