MALAYSIA – Genting International has made its first foray into the online gambling sector with the operation of its online casino and poker room last Friday.
Branded CircusCasino and CircusPoker and downloadable via the Stanley Casino site (www.stanleycasinos.com), the Malaysian gambling group’s online gambling sites are seen by experts as tests for potential launches in other parts of Asia. Genting already owns Stanley Leisure and has been actively buying stocks in gaming company, Rank Plc, this year.
Stanley Leisure have had several attempts at building its own online gaming system before being acquired by Genting. For its most recent online gaming venture, Stanley chose instead to purchase its casino and poker software from popular vendor/developer Playtech Limited (www.playtech.com).
Experts predict that Genting/Stanley will have massive cross-selling opportunities to boost its online venture thanks largely to its large database of members that play through the company’s landbased casinos.

well, i have to say this is positive for the industry in terms of cross selling and branching out into the expansion of the industry itself.
